Taylor Anderson Review at Miami University, Oxford | Collegedunia

Why Miami is so Exceptional!

TA
9.8 /10

I am able to take the first 2 years on a branch campus to save money, then I am able to move to the main campus for two years!! Also if I take 50% of my classes on a branch campus, I get the brunch price.

Course Curriculum :

I really love it! I am studying to be an elementary school teacher and they really are teaching us how to be a transformative teacher and not just one that follows curriculum word for word, but we are able to engage students!! Regarding some of my general classes, I like it! They are very interactive classes, which I love!

Exams :

I took the ACT in high school. I have not taken any huge tests like the ACT since high school. I have taken normal final exams.

Placement :

95% of Miami Students get jobs after graduating! As a teacher, most schools love Miami so much that the school you student teach at usually will hire you at the end of the year!! My host teacher this year has even told me to email him in a few months to see if I can come back to help to get extra credit for school.

Internship :

Yes they do, I am in one right now at an elementary school! Each program Miami has, they have internships and field experience. I love who and where I was placed. They really listen to you and what you want to learn.

Events :

My university is very diverse!! They are always holding lunches, diversity training, culture fairs, and sporting events! On the branch campus, they celebrate the smallest of things and it is so neat to see their support network.

Fees :

I was a dual credit student so I did not have any fees at all. Their tuition is fairly priced. I think there is a small change when you register, but it goes into your tuition bill.

Scholarship :

I applied for the scholarship last year. I got it. I also got a deans merit scholarship by surprise for one whole year which helped out a ton.

Examination Structure :

It is fair. Typically we have a quiz every few weeks, then a project or paper for the midterm and then the final exam! I feel prepared for all of them! They give us a full week for just exams and they are all spread out enough you do not feel overwhelmed!

Faculty :

They are so helpful! It doesn't matter what class or who you are any staff member is willing to sit down and talk with you about school! The professors and staff you do have every week are so sweet and will sit down to just talking about life!

Hostel :

I loved it at home for two years. I then moved to an off-campus apartment with another girl I knew. It was a lot more affordable and was very nice and kept up the place. I honestly would love to live there even after I graduate.
