MSUM felt comfortable to be and was in the location of a somewhat smaller city next to a larger city. They offer a good psychology program and smaller sized classes. The cost was a good amount as it is in state college.
Course Curriculum
The courses are a good level of difficulty. There are a variety of options laid out, but it's hard to know when a certain class is going to be offered again. It's hard to plan out classes you want to take, and hard to get into the classes you do plan on taking.
Exams
I took the ACT and got a 30. My subscores include a 27 on math, 31 on reading, 31 on science, and 29 on English.
Placement
Placement and job opportunities for psychology majors are fairly high and very broad. There are many different types of jobs that a psychology student can decide to go into.
Internship
The internship for my program is optional. Psychology students can intern for up to 12 credits, paid or unpaid. I have not taken an internship as of now.
Events
There are many different events that are put on by various organizations throughout the year. There are many different activities at the beginning of the year especially, to get people to participate in the college and community. Some of these are craft nights, bingo, movies, game nights, athletic games.
Fees
Fees included technology, athletic, housing, food, activity, tuition, books, and other miscellaneous fees.
Scholarship
I have received scholarships from the college itself. I was considered for the particular scholarship because of my GPA and ACT scores. I wrote an essay to receive them. I also won many private scholarships through essay writing in high school.
Examination Structure
Almost all the exams I have taken are multiple choice, true or false, and matching format. They are somewhat difficult and include more and more application questions. I have had one class so far that was entirely essay questions on the midterm exam, but we were given a review with all the questions on them for studying or to practice.
Faculty
Almost all the faculty I have encountered truly care about you succeeding in their classes. Most are clear about what they expect in the class and are fair about assignments.
Hostel
I live on campus in the dorm rooms with one roommate. I adjusted to this well and like living on campus. It's convenient to be close to all the other buildings and activities occurring, especially as I was just starting out living at the college.
