I loved the small feel and how beautiful the campus was when I first visited. I loved the idea of having small class sizes and having professors who really cared about each and every student. I also chose this college because it is close enough to home that trips back for breaks aren't unbearable, but I am still far enough away and can be independent.
Course Curriculum
CNU starts you out your freshman year by choosing your first semester's classes. These are all part of your Liberal Learning curriculum, which is actually very helpful in creating well-rounded students and giving incoming freshmen a sampling of all the different subjects that are available.
Faculty
The faculty is great. Unlike my high school, every teacher cares deeply about every student and is willing to go out of their way to assist with understanding concepts and reinforcing ideas that are hard to understand.
Placement
Job opportunities are posted on a website called Handshake. There are many jobs available and different times during the year for both the University and the Fergason Center. You simply apply online and then interview with someone on campus.
Accommodation
Students are required to live on campus for three years, which is a very unpopular rule with students considering the recent problem arising with a lack of housing. For my freshman year, most students in my dorm building were tripled, meaning that there were three people in a two person room.
Exams
I took the SAT and ACT during high school. I did fairly well on both, but nothing above and beyond the average
Events
CNU doesn't celebrate too many events, but here are a few: ~CNU Day: a day to celebrate CNU, it's alumni, and to raise money for various scholarships on campus ~Homecoming: celebrating being a Captain and welcoming everyone back to school.
Fees
Charges and fees are very clearly listed in the finances section in each students university account.
Scholarship
Yes. I applied through FAFSA for university and federal aid as well as applied for independent scholarships. I found that it was easier to apply to independent scholarships that were not on the major scholarship websites because I had a greater chance of winning them.
Examination Structure
Exams are a week-long affair at CNU. Testing for finals is Monday through Saturday during the last week of each semester, with Wednesday as a university-wide reading day. Midterms are all due by a specific date but are much less structured than finals are.
