The business program was reviewed really well. I wanted to be close to home also because I'm only an hour away. I liked the campus as well and the atmosphere was very welcoming. I liked how it was small but not too small.
Course Curriculum
I like the options that are available. Although I feel that the university could provide students with more classes that could expand their education rather than requiring some that take away. Some of the Gen Ed's should be reconsidered.
Exams
ACT with a score of 25. I do not think that I've taken any other college entrance exams. I took the ALEKS math exam but do not know the score.
Placement
They seem to be impressive. I haven't experienced any job searching or placement opportunities yet. But I hope that I will be able to get a major related job once I graduate. I have heard good statistics but have no real experience.
Internship
Not yet. I believe there is a program that will provide students with the opportunity for an internship but I am not entirely sure of how it works. I am only a sophomore at this point. In time and I think the program is open to third-year students.
Events
The university tries to keep students happy and healthy with a variety of concerts and stress relieving activities. We have dogs come to the library during stressful weeks and also get to unwind with concerts every couple of months.
Fees
Tuition and books and other parking passes and such are required from the students. It is rather expensive to bring a car to school and even for guests to find parking can be costly. Getting around could be less expensive.
Scholarship
I have one scholarship that was given to me from the university for my ACT score of over 23. I receive a discount on my tuition of $2000 but must keep my GPA above a 3.5 to keep my scholarship. I have received no financial aid for this, or any previous, semesters.
Examination Structure
Most exams use scantrons which can be exposed to some technical difficulties although it allows teachers to release grades much faster. Overall, the exams are probably about as good as they can be given the number of students who take them.
Faculty
They seem to want students to succeed. With education working along with online materials, professors should be more understanding with technical difficulties.
Hostel
I have an on-campus apartment through the university because underclassmen are required to live through university housing. I believe that it is a way too expensive as I am paying over $1000 a month to live with 3 other people and share 2 bathrooms between us. There are cheaper housing options in the area but they are unattainable for me at this point in time.
