Chapman University Experience

MM
9.7 /10

I chose Chapman because of the amazing resources that the private university has to offer. Because it is a small school, the education is personalized and the learning environment is extremely comfortable. I also chose this school because it has one of the riding dance programs in California along with the prestigious business school.

Course Curriculum :

The course curriculum is pretty reasonable, it?s my first year so it?s mandatory to take a first years foundation course which is completely it of the range of your major. Mine is a social action course called Lied You Learned in School which has changed my entire perspective on life.

Exams :

During my junior year in high school, I took both the SAT & ACT to see if I could do better on one compared to the other. I also took a Spanish placement exam to place into Spanish 201 because I took it in high school, this allowed me to opt out of taking 2 additional semesters of Spanish.

Placement :

The job opportunities are also very extensive. We often have a career fair in the Piazza bringing in major companies and corporations looking specially for Chapman students. Additionally almost everyone I talked to says the alumni organization is super helpful with getting new graduates find jobs.

Internship :

Yes, Chapman has plenty of connections with internships in the surrounding area and there also an international internship opportunity which is incredible. I plan on doing an international internship over summer because the connections I could make are endless.

Events :

The list of events celebrated at my college is endless. We have guest speakers talking about social activism, film production and how to be a successful entrepreneur. There's also something going on in the piazza whether it's Greek like raising money for their charity or the acapella club selling tickets for their show. It's absolutely impossible to get bored at Chapman.

Fees :

The fee structure allows you to do a monthly payment plan and everything is perfectly laid out for you on a portal. Other charges include room and board, gym use and an optional health insurance plan.

Scholarship :

Most of my financial aid came directly from my Chapman grant which was extremely helpful as tuition (including room and board) is around $67,000 the government aid I received wouldn't have been enough to cover all four years of my post-secondary education.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure is fairly simple. In most of my business classes there are two midterms and a final with small quizzes spread around throughout the semesters. Finals week is spread out where we don?t have classes and if you have 3 in one day your professor has to allow you to take it on another day which is very considerate of the university.

Faculty :

The faculty at my college are very generous and they truly want you to succeed. Although I'm only a freshman the classes I've taken have been taught by the most intelligent, caring people I know. They're always available for one on one office hours.

Hostel :

The dorms that we live in are extremely beautiful and spacious. Luckily I live in one of the newest buildings so we have access to a movie theatre lounge, several study rooms and even a dance studio room!
