Jithin Madhusudanan Sreekala Review at University Of Wisconsin [UW-WHITEWATER], Whitewater | Collegedunia

Having different perspective While Studying Abroad

JS
8.3 /10

I selected several universities within Top 100 world ranking. UW Madison had the best program in High energy physics and was within the range of my scores to be promising.

Course Curriculum :

The courses were up-to-date. I had several general physics courses required for the grad school program, the rest were focused on my major, HEP physics

Exams :

I scored 320 on GRE, 890 on Physics GRE, and 110 on TOEFL. I am not aware of the minimum scores for the graduate student program.

Placement :

I am not sure about this. Graduate students usually take jobs in research labs, or in academics. A good portion of the students has gone to industries such as banking, and software engineering.

Internship :

No, I didn't get an internship.

Events :

Research facilities are excellent. The campus is well-equipped and thoroughly connected by buses. There is campus-wide wifi connectivity. There are more than half a dozen libraries on campus.

Fees :

You may not have to pay fees if you are in a doctorate program.

Scholarship :

I am in a doctorate program, so the university covers tuition fees and I'm paid a stipend.

Faculty :

My supervisor is one of the esteemed and well-known people in the particle physics community.

Hostel :

The campus has multiple accommodation facilities for housing undergrads, grad students, and faculty. They are spread out across the campus. There are options for shared housing and private ones.
