Personally, it was because I would only have to pay their in-state tuition. Additionally, they had good science programs in chemistry, biology, and botany. Additionally, it has one of the biggest student population in North Carolina.
Course Curriculum :
I think some of it shouldn?t be required; however, most of the course curriculum is fair for the program. I wish there were more courses towards plant research that could be applicable to job experience.
Exams :
SAT, ACT and those are the only two I took to apply to NC State. I also took AP exams on a high school level.
Internship :
Yes, individual research labs on campus provide internships sometimes for students. I was able to get an internship in a plant pathology lab at state for a summer. It was an extremely rewarding experience and I was paid!
Fees :
Fees are billed once a semester, which works well. They are administered by an e-bill, which means they're online.
Examination Structure :
The exam structure is very much dependent on each course you take. Some are online and some are in person. Most classes typically have four exams; however, some have five exams. The exams are typically fair from my experience.
Faculty :
I love the faculty in my department. Everyone is so kind and motivating. They also are more than willing to give great advice when planning for future careers.
