A university For the Real World

K
7.0 /10

I am interested into security since its a basic requirement of everyday life and shows a promising career. And this is the only university that offers a course in cyber security. Also the city that this university is situated has a moderate climate conditions.

Course Curriculum :

I can say its a fast paced environment. The hard work is on students part and thats the only way you will learn a lot. You have the best Curriculum to follow which is designed to the course needs.

Exams :

Admission requirements depends on the course you choose. Considering Cyber Security you need a minimum GRE score of 300 and IELTS average of 6.5 in all bands. A minimum of 65% in your Bachelors degree. It varies if you are choosing MBA or Energy Management.

Internship :

Not really. But the university keeps you informed about every opportunity they have.

Events :

I can say one thing. When you are coming to a new place or a University or college don’t start dreaming about everything comparing to what they show in movies. Stay on ground keep your feet together and I guarantee you that you will like what they have in store. Keep take part in everything you just have a single life to explore.

Fees :

Its around 37,000$ CAD. More(obviously more) or less depending upon the institution’s change in fee structure.

Scholarship :

Not really.

Faculty :

Well the faculty are best at what they do, teaching. I don’t want to bring up any names because that raises bar for your imagination but i can say you will love more than one professor in your entire course and will probably like everyone. I have got a few for myself. They got the best for you just try to follow them and keep up with them. All you need to do is use your email you will be surprised with the response time of the professors most of the time for any kind of help need with the subject or out of the subject. I might repeat this here and there, never ever listen to someone(for example a senior student or who has completed the course) else opinion and come to a conclusion about the faculty that teach you.

Hostel :

You may suffer a little at the beginning if you don’t know someone in the city. But as you move on you will be eased. You can find sharing or single rooms according to your comfort. The accommodations are pretty decent in and around the city. A typical monthly expenditure may range between 400-600 for the rent and 200-400 for the food and daily needs. All you gotta do is build your connections. Never miss the orientation no matter what anyone says. Have a good circle of friends in your class. Thats all you need. I suggest you to make use of the resources like facebook to connect to people or find a room for yourself. But be cautious before you pay something to someone.
