Pavan Kumar Review at University Of Dayton, Dayton | Collegedunia

A Creative Constellation

PK
7.2 /10

I was attracted to the University of Dayton based on both its academic reputation as well as knowing several others from my high school whom I respected attending here ahead of me. I have found opportunities for personal growth and development not only academically, but also to expand beyond the classroom knowledge. Most of my professors in my major have real-world experience outside of academia and it shows. The professor for the capstone class in my major was instrumental in guiding me to an internship this past summer which greatly expanded my professional experience

Course Curriculum :

The subjects are updated with the current job markets and in the first semester, they cover the basics of computer science which will really help us understand the gist of the subject. We do have research opportunities, and projects which will be made available after the completion of two successive semesters.

Exams :

Due to COVID-19, the GRE and IELTS exams are waived for this university and the Duolingo English Test was made compulsory where in I got 120/160. The cut-off was 115.

Placement :

We had virtual career fair organized in which one can look for internships and many more. We do have tie-up with handshake - a service which make sure students gets the job according to their skill set.

Internship :

No, not yet.

Events :

Campus is vast and green with variety of cafeterias, gymnastics, football court, basketball court and many more. Whole campus is equipped with WiFi connectivity with high-speed data. Every week there will be extracurricular activities like Movie nights, Late Night games, snow games and many more. The college has sports club for the ones who love sports. We do have free bus service every 10 minutes from the college to the city downtown which I feel is safe and best.

Fees :

$35000 is the tuition fee I pay.

Scholarship :

Yes, $2000 from the University, and also I have received Vishwakonkani Scholarship for study abroad aspirants worth of Rs.2,00,000 for two years. This scholarship is reserved for Konkani Community Students.

Faculty :

The student-to-faculty ratio is 30:1. The faculties are well experienced in their domain and some are with the Ph.D. level and provide research opportunities under them. You can approach them anytime via mail and they seem to be quickly responsive.

Hostel :

Accommodation is shared and it is expensive. The average rent to be paid if you stay out is 250$ per month.
