Melissa Quintana Review at San Francisco State University [SFSU], San Francisco | Collegedunia

SF STATE LIFE

MQ
8.3 /10

It's in the city of San Francisco and that's what intrigued me to come, so I can explore the city and live the city life. I am from SoCal and I live right next to the beach so moving to San Francisco was a big change for me and it was a change that really helped me grow as a person.

Course Curriculum :

My opinion is that it isn't that hard and you don't need years of hardcore studying, you just need to have an average 3.0 GPA. Very different than the UC course curriculum because it isn't that hard and competitive.

Exams :

SAT I only had to take the SAT to get into the university and I only took it once and I got accepted into the university

Placement :

I have heard that you can find a job after graduating college pretty easy if you had an internship during your college career. If you didn't have an internship in college then it is harder to gain a job straight out of college.

Internship :

My college provides many different programs that help you find internships and the school rates the internships and checks them to make sure you are learning and not doing hard labor. They also help you network your way into internships and host seminars with alum.

Events :

There are many events on campus hostess by different clubs and Greek life. A lot of events circle around social issues and bring awareness to them. The Greek life events will consist of tabling and other activities such as dunk tanks and competitive games against different orgs.

Fees :

So basically you pay for tuition every semester and if you live on campus then you pay rent plus your email Plan every month. Tuition comes with a full membership to the new gym and it comes with the ID Card that also allows you to go on public transportation for free which is amazing!

Scholarship :

I have not gotten any scholarships or financial aid. When I applied for financial aid, I didn't qualify to get any.

Examination Structure :

The exam structure depends on your major, the stem majors are very competitive and very hard and the other major's don't really focus on exams because they focus more on the internships you need to get.

Faculty :

I really like the faculty because they don't just teach the subject, they really do try to teach you things that you need for your career. They also help you a lot with finding internships and writing recommendation letters.

Hostel :

Ok, so housing at SF state is very impacted, as a freshman I was waitlisted number 600. It's unbelievable! So I lived in the apartments right across from campus and it was pretty expensive but less expensive than housing.
