3 hours drive from my home in NJ. Highly-ranked Computer Science program. Diverse student body.
Course Curriculum
Course curriculum is up-to-date for the higher-level Computer Science courses (example: was taught Apache Spark in Database class, and modern Machine Learning frameworks in Machine Learning class). Lots of research opportunities if you know how to network with professors. It is feasible to get a 4.0 GPA if you work hard. There are no classes that are IMPOSSIBLE to get an A in.
Exams
My scores: ACT: 35/36, SAT: 1480
Placement
Most Computer Science students place into big companies that are in the area. The most popular ones are Capital One and Lockheed Martin. A lot of students also place into Amazon since Amazon hires a lot of engineers frequently.
Internship
Yes. I interned at a Long Island Data Analytics company called 605TV as Data Analyst for two summers. Paid around $20/hour. I interned as a Software Engineer Intern at a Chicago startup called Ocient for $35/hour. I interned as a Software Engineer Inter at Amazon Web Services for $50/hour.
Fees
Around $48k per year (including housing).
Scholarship
No
Faculty
Some faculty are really good, but most are average. Haven't met too many faculty that are really bad.
Campus Life
Campus life is great. Lots of interesting clubs, especially in the business school. The business school clubs gave me exposure to the world of finance despite being a Computer Science student.
Hostel
Nearby apartments are much cheaper than on-campus housing. I pay $700/month, but have to share a room with someone, but the apartment is a 2bed2bath that is spacious.
