The research program at Yale best suited my work interests, had a world class research environment, highly talented and inspiring individuals, and comprehensive funding and support facilities. The health insurance etc. was also comprehensive and fully paid for by the university. My department at Yale ranks among the best in the nation and produces very dense, highly quality research in a tightly knit, multi-disciplinary collaborative environment combining aspects of mechanical/civil/chemical engineering coupled with electrical engineering and analytical chemistry which I appreciated quite a lot. Yale also provides immense international exposure and numerous opportunities to develop additional dimensions in one's personality.
