I applied to MS CS elsewhere, and got rejected from all places. This was the only US admit I had. The other one was in Europe.

Program Structure is poor. I hope they change it soon. It's very rigid, and kind of outdated when it comes to modern robotics. Can't complain much since it's offered by mechanical department. Professors are very good. All of the good ones have joined recently, and the robotics scene is picking pace. Will be better in coming days for sure, but don't know whether it would become as good as CMU.

Most people get a job, in good enough companies. Some do well, and get into good companies. NYC is a great area to be if you want to do FinTech roles. Lots of quant firms and banks are in NYC. No dearth of opportunities when it comes to Finance and IT. Other branches? Not so sure.

Professors are very good. Like all places, some are approachable l, some are total dicks. Especially those who are old Indian dudes. Non Indian profs tend to be very friendly.

Campus Life

There are a lot of activities happening throughout the year, and lot of research facilities. It's very good for ECE. For CS, prefer NYU Courant. Much better program. Very hard to get in, so peer group would be amazing there. The peer group at Tandon sucks. Filled with incompetent people.

It's going to be expensive. Be prepared to shell out upwards of 1300$ per month of you want a good single room, and would spend money eating out. You can live like rats and get away with 600-700$ per month. But do you really want to?
