Madeleine Review at University Of Southern California [USC], Los Angeles | Collegedunia

Look past the Scandals

8.3 /10

Fell in love with the feel, the size of the campus, and the degree programs. It also had all the clubs that I was looking for and the most perfect weather possible. It also had the most prestige out of all the colleges I got in to.

Course Curriculum :

It depends on the course I'm taking. Some classes are extremely hard for me such as Calculus and Physics and require a lot of extra work outside of class. Other classes such as GEs or the Freshman Seminar Courses don't require as much effort.

Exams :

I took the SAT and got a 1330 and the ACT and got a 30. Super scored on the ACT, I got a 32 except my school didn't take the superstore.

Fees :

The total cost to attend the university was $75,000. Plus living in Los Angeles is quite expensive and you need a lot of other living stipends.

Scholarship :

Yes, I applied for scholarships with the university that grant me free tuition. I also have compensated room and board which brings the total down from $75,000 to only $8,000 per year. It's a much more manageable price which is why I decided to come here.

Examination Structure :

At the end of the semester, we have all of our exams after a dead week of class. They're back to back usually over the course of a week. I've only ever had mine in the first few consecutive days which is a blessing and a curse.

Faculty :

So far I've had great faculty. For the most part, they've been available by email and have great office hours. No complaints their. My one issue is a class taught by a grad student.

Hostel :

I live in one of the freshman dorms on campus. I don't have any problems with the housing process aside from picking a roommate. That was not a favourable experience and I wish there were better ways to get out of a bad housing situation.
