It was located in the heart of New York City, which means you can build more and better connections. Most of the big 4 headquarters are in NYC, which makes it very easier to network in those areas. I have an undergrad degree in Accounting and I wanted to up my skills in that field. Masters in Accounting seemed to be the perfect option for that.

Course Curriculum

10

According to me, the course material was very relevant and up to date. It did give me an industry exposure by allowing me to do an internship with one of the Big 4 accounting firms. The material that I studied during my course has helped me a lot in my professional work experience.

Exams

The admission requirement was an IELTS score for international students. My score: IELTS 8; Class minimum score: 6.5

Placement

6

Most of the students in my accounting program had a job offer before they graduated. Deloitte, E&Y, BakerTilly and a-lot of accounting firms visit the campus. The placement process is okay, you’re mostly on your own to network and apply at different companies. However, the brand name of Fordham University helps a lot to get you an interview. The median salary is $60,000.

Internship

I interned at Deloitte. It’s a big 4 accounting firm in NYC. My stipend was $36 per hour and I interned for about 3 months.

Fees

The total tuition fees was around $60,000 ($1700 per credit)

Scholarship

I received Dean’s Scholarship which is $20,000 for the entire 18 months course. There was no separate application for scholarship. The question for scholarship was usually asked in your main college application itself.

Faculty

10

The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:20. The faculty and staff are super friendly and helpful in each and every way. A lot of times they go out of their way to help you out with any kind of guidance and support that you require. One such professor that left an incredible impact on me is Prof. Iris Schneider. She truly goes out of her way to help students and teaches so well.

Campus Life

The campus life is great. The infrastructure is very modern and suffices all the student needs of a great WiFi, library, canteen and open space! There are tons of extra curricular activities happening on campus. For every student’s interest there is a club to join. You’ll never fall short of that.

Hostel

10

The university has a lot of accommodation options but it gets filled out pretty quickly. The average rental would anywhere be between $1500 - $2000 per month in Manhattan. But if you move a little outside Manhattan like Jersey City, it could be around $1000 per month. The commute from Jersey City to college is between 40-45 mins by path and subway.
