Sean Martinos Review at Brandeis University, Waltham | Collegedunia

My University

SM
6.5 /10

Mainly because of the cost, but the academics are also very strong here. there are lots of opportunities for undergrads who seek them out which is really beneficial. the population of the school is generally very intelligent which is also a plus.

Course Curriculum :

it's difficult, but also the first time I feel challenged. I can't complain because I enjoy it a lot more than high school, but it is really difficult sometimes. the classes are much more interesting and the work is generally meaningful, except for some busywork.

Exams :

SAT, ACT. I don't know why this needs 100 characters so the ready of this is going to be spaces.

Internship :

I'm doing a research internship this summer and won $5000 for the 10 weeks. I'll be working with a grad student mentor and conducting my own research with the potential for publishment. I had to apply and interview for the job myself, and the stipends available are very limited.

Scholarship :

Yes, I was automatically considered and entered into two different scholarship opportunities. You are also automatically assessed for need-based aid, there are few to none extra applications needed for aid.

Examination Structure :

Most classes today have 3 or so exams each semester which are large determinants of your grade. Most classes have other assignments, but many classes use exams as the sole determinant of your final grade.

Faculty :

The faculty really does seem to care about the student's education, sick is great. the administration can be very frustrating but in general, the professors are very qualified.
