Amanda Review at Middle Tennessee State University [MTSU], Murfreesboro | Collegedunia

Goog college

A
7.2 /10

I got a great scholarship that was both prestigious and covered a fair amount of my expenses. The staff seemed great. The general atmosphere was welcoming. The strength of program of the program they offered.

Course Curriculum :

Some of the faculty were incredible. Some of what I learned was essential for my future job and was stimulating and challenging. Some of the assignments were useless time wasters and some teachers were less than ideal. It was a mixed bag. Overall, the curriculum had more positives than negatives.

Exams :

I just took the ACT. I dont remember what score I got. But I do remember I took the ACT four times.

Placement :

My University had a career services office that helped me make my resume. Other than that, they did nothing to help me secure my first real job. The jobs that they did expose me to were horrible options. I am happy where I am though, and didn't need their help.

Internship :

Yes, I was able to find my own internship outside of the college and use the experience for credit. It was a very odd experience though because my entire internship was completed remotely, but it worked.

Events :

I don't really remember many events. I did not attend homecoming. We had a welcome week every year which was fun. There lots of activities and ways to meet clubs and organizations. Other than that, there were random celebrations like Oktoberfest that were not large events but the food in the cafeteria was great fun those days.

Fees :

I really don't know. I didn't handle the finances. Thankfully. my parents handled that for me. I got a Scholarship and I worked as an RA. As an RA, I got a cheaper room rate and a cheaper meal plan. It was still expensive, though. And my scholarship didn't cover everything. I am so grateful for my parents.

Scholarship :

Yes, I received one scholarship - the honours transfer scholarship. It did not cover the whole cost, but it was nice. I dont remember exactly what is covered and what the remaining cost was. I dont believe I was eligible for any other aid.

Examination Structure :

Every professor had different exams. As an art minor and communications major I typically had very few exams. Almost all of my "finals" were projects and presentations. When I did have a final, it was usually in person taken with a scantron.

Faculty :

Most of the instructors I encountered genuinely cared, were knowledgeable in their field and were skilled at teaching. They provided meaningful lessons, good direction, and contributed to a positive academic experience.

Hostel :

I lived in the Honors dorm on campus as a Resident Assistant. This was ideal because the Honors dorm was quieter and less rambunctious than other dorms and as an RA I got a room to myself at a reduced rate. the RA work wasn't ideal, but it wasn't terrible or too time-consuming.
