Feels like home and a great place to practice being independent. I also learned they have a lot of research opportunities and teach students about leadership. The community is fantastic they're always looking for new ways to be sustainable and help out the city.
Course Curriculum :
The course curriculum can be challenging depending on the subject. But I think that's good due to when you leave college, the job market you'll be competing in will be full of obstacles so if you can be successful in challenging courses, you'll experience the same result in your career.
Internship :
Yes, my college provides a lot of internship opportunities in various fields. I personally haven't been able to apply to one due to personal reasons but a lot of my friends tell me how interesting their positions were.
Fees :
A lot of our mandatory fees are for clubs around campus and athletics. While I personally believe students should have a say in where they want their money to go, it's nice that the university tries to support different organizations.
Scholarship :
Yes, I've received financial aid. This is the only con that particularly comes to mind when I think about college here is that the financial aid office is extremely slow with processing aid. So make sure you always apply as soon as possible.
Examination Structure :
Our exams can be in person or online, depends on your instructor. I personally prefer online exams simply because I can take my exam with Examity so instructors know a student isn't cheating while also being in a comfortable space during the exam.
Faculty :
I think the faculty at my college is wonderful. My department does it's best to get everyone on board with being mentally, physically, and emotionally healthy. They reach out to first-generation students like me to help assist me with things my family may not understand. They're a great secondary support system.
Hostel :
Dorm life is honestly what you make it, a lot of dorms try to host mini-events within their communities. Living on campus is great for people who are social and want to make friends when enrolling here. It's important to remember people are different and you may not get along or be friends with everyone. So always try to respect another person's boundaries or beliefs.
