Kayla Penister Review at University Of Evansville [UE], Evansville | Collegedunia

University of Evansville is for Everyone

KP
7.8 /10

The University of Evansville provided multiple scholarships which eased the burden of paying for school all on my own and relying solely on taking out even more loans. It's a small & beautiful campus, with a bustling & supportive community.

Course Curriculum :

The course work is challenging but is doable. Some classes are obviously harder than others depending on major, but all courses will require effort. There are certain courses that are considered general education requirements. These are somewhat easier, but you need to have a C to pass them, so don't slack off.

Exams :

I had to take the SAT and got a score of 1200. This was deemed good in my acceptance to UE. There are also some entrance exams such as math and English proficiency, as well as proficiency in foreign languages if you decide to do that.

Placement :

The University of Evansville sports a job placement rate of over 90% of its graduating students. The University's intense curriculum, dedicated faculty, and excellent offices prepare students for the jobs they want in their fields.

Internship :

They help with some internship searches, but may not provide them internally. Most internships are unpaid unless the student finds a paid one on their own. However, the office of Career Development on campus gives every student who is completing the internship the opportunity to apply for a one-time $500 stipend to help with expenses associated with the internship or to offset the loss of an unpaid internship.

Events :

In the past few years, UE has championed diversity on its campus. We have an interfaith peace bell and peace pole that remind students every day of the diversity and uniqueness that exists on our campus. There are leadership awards every year for student organizations, there are weekly meetings in different leadership topics, there are weekly music performances by our excellent music department. You can always find something new and exciting going on at UE.

Fees :

There is a base tuition rate, other fees can include housing and meal plans, additional cost for extra credit hours, and other charges like technology and activity fees.

Scholarship :

Fill out FAFSA. Look for scholarships that may apply to you, as outlandish as they may seem. The University grants scholarships in some form to every student.

Examination Structure :

Most exams will be written by the professor themselves if not by the whole department. The exam structure is varied and may be Scantron, essay style, or any combination of the two, including short answer questions as well.

Faculty :

Most of the faculty at this institution are professional and approachable. They make themselves available to their students several hours a week outside of class for questions or concerns.

Hostel :

I've lived in residence halls my entire four years here. They are facilities that are very convenient for students. They have study spaces and recreational areas, community bathrooms, community kitchens and community laundry spaces. They are a great place to make connections on campus and build strong friendships early on.
