It was the first college I applied too, also felt that I enjoyed the culture of the college. I found my time at SVSU to be memorable and I do miss being around the people.
Faculty
The faulty was a mixed bag. What I mean is that the math department was always on academic probation, a little more than a fraction of the university's students. But the other department was great. The history department was my favorite. My opinion is a little bias because I have a historical background.
Placement
The on-campus jobs were great and allowed for you to be able to be part of the university culture. I worked on campus for three years and loved every moment from the coworkers to the friends you make on the job and off.
Accommodation
My first two years were on-campus housing. My first year I lived in an eight-person dorm and enjoyed it. I also liked all my roommates. But, in my second year, I did not like my housing placement. This was due to having three roommates who partied too much. So my now wife and I cohabited in my on-campus dorm.
Exams
I never took any post-high school-related tests. But I did take the ACT twice to improve scores so that I could be able to get into college. I was happy that I did so that I could go to SVSU. My first score did not come out the way I wanted it to be at first. But my second testing score allows me to get the score I wanted and needed.
Fees
Grants and scholarships were available to students of all financial backgrounds. I was able to get a couple each year that I attended college. Once moving off-campus was possible I saved money making college a little cheaper for me. In the long run. I think that college could have been cheaper had I applied for more grants and scholarships sooner and more regularly.
