Transfer Student review of Towson

E
9.5 /10

I transferred here to be closer to home. I love the big school but small school class sizes and they have an Excellent nursing program as well. The school is affordable (as an in-state student). I had previously applied in high school and got in so I knew I would not have a problem getting into the school as a transfer student.

Course Curriculum :

As a transfer student, I am a bit out of order as most students take classes But I like the courses I take; they are all very important

Exams :

I chose the nursing program because I have heard all good things about it. It is pretty competitive to get into which makes me nervous but it helps me realize that everyone who is in the program has worked very hard and truly deserves to be there as well as really wants to be there. The program has many great clinical rotations nearby as well.

Placement :

I am not very sure about placements and job opportunities outside of the nursing program. There is a very excellent career centre though that slums are more than welcome and even encouraged to go to for job connections.

Internship :

There is a very large variety of opportunities for on-campus jobs. I think on-campus jobs all are paid minimum wage (10.10/hr) but there are also stipend positions such as being an RA as well as a note-taking assistant.

Events :

Footbal games are a pretty big event here at Towson!

Fees :

In-state tuition + room and board is about $26,000. For out of state students the total cost (tuition + room and board) is $38,000. I am not using any loans. When I first applied during high school I was offered a $3,000/year scholarship based on my National Honor Society membership. When I applied as a transfer student I was not offered a scholarship.

Scholarship :

No

Faculty :

The faculty so far is great! It's been a while since I had all the professors/teachers that I actually enjoy. All of them are very knowledgeable and mostly just want to share their knowledge with us. The faculty-student ratio is 17:1

Hostel :

I live on campus and love it! I live in an on-campus apartment building with mostly all other transfer students. Since it is an apartment, I do not have a traditional meal plan but I was able to purchase a non-traditional meal plan with a set number of swipes per semester/year
