Alyssa Schulwitz Review at The College Of Saint Rose, Albany | Collegedunia

The College of Saint Rose

I really liked the small classroom sizes compared to the bigger colleges and lecture halls. It's a pretty small school so you always run into someone you know or have seen before on campus. I really liked my major as well. This college was in the heart of Albany and is very easy to get around, plus there are so many options if you are bored to do something.

Course Curriculum :

I love it the rigorous curriculum

Exams :

I decided to declare this major because I loved the professors that taught the classes, and I loved the classes that were offered. It's like with the professors they really like to teach hands on and always take into consideration what you would like to learn about but also teach what is required. The professors are amazing and have flexible hours for office hours as well.

Placement :

.

Internship :

Yes! There are plenty of work study jobs around campus! I have not worked a work study job on campus so I cannot give an amount to how much our earn if you worked a work study job. I am actually in the Cold Case Analysis Center, and it is an unpaid internship but I?m gaining valuable experience and networking with the local PDs in the area, I love it.

Events :

Orgullo Latino- an event that happens in the Fall semester, hosted by the Latin dance team on campus, Sabor Latino. Afro-Carib- happens in the Spring semester, hosted by Spectrum ALANA. Annual Fashion Show- happens in the Spring semester, also hosted by Spectrum ALANA. As well as other events hosted by different groups on campus both semesters.

Fees :

The College of Saint Rose is a private 4 year school, therefore it will cost a bit extra. Pretty sure tuition is around $50,000 a year now, but you can get scholarships and financial aid to cut that cost. I'm actually not sure what the scholarships are like for International students as I am not an International student. But, I have met many international students who are on the sports teams, and I'm pretty sure they are here on scholarships.

Scholarship :

I am here on a scholarship and also financial aid. It cut down the cost a lot which made me choose this college to attend.

Examination Structure :

It all depends on the professor. I have some who give take-home exams so that we can work on it when we have time, because life happens. But I also have had professors who give in class exams as well. All professors are different so I cannot comment on their exam structure as a whole.

Faculty :

As I mentioned before, the college is pretty small with small classrooms and the ratio is 12:1 (I?m pretty sure). I love the professors for my major! Dr. Lane is my favorite professor, and she teaches things that I?m actually interested in. Favorite professor hands down. The criminal justice department has amazing professors all around.

Hostel :

I live on campus. Freshman year I didn't have a good roommate so I ended up moving into another room. Working with the Residence Life staff is great, they really will help you if you are having problems with your residence building or roommate, or whatever the case may be.
