I had a friend who recommended me to pursue my bachelor's from the University of Houston-Victoria. My good marks in class 12th helped me a lot in getting admission. The admission process was simple, I had filled an online application form. I had also paid an application fee of around $25.
Course Curriculum
I had learned to develop and manage computer-based solutions to commercial,scientific and industrial problems. My program helped me to learn various programming languages. I had learned about computer technology and its applications in various fields. Subjects included in my course are programming, software engineering, computer organization, structure of programming languages, database, operating systems and discrete mathematics.
Exams
I always wanted to learn about computer technology and its applications. I was required to submit my score of TOEFL of 90. I had submitted a score of ACT which was 26. I had also submitted all official academic transcripts,immunization form,residency certificate,financial aid affidavit and a letter of good conduct
Placement
My college had provided good placement opportunities to all the students. The Department was a member of the Microsoft Academic Alliance and the Oracle Academic Initiative programs. This gave me opportunities to work with the computer industry standards in software development.
Events
The university always organizes many events throughout the year. The events were very helpful as they helped us in our career development and personality development. Some of the events included -workshops,conferences,career counseling and many athletic events.
Fees
I had paid around $10000 for my tuition and fee. Books and supplies had cost me around $1500. My other expenses had cost me around $2000.I had availed STEM scholarship from the college authority which had covered up to $8000 of my expenses. I had filled an online form for a scholarship during the admission process.
Faculty
All of my teachers were talented experts in their chosen fields of research. Most importantly, the faculty was dedicated to mentoring us. They were very qualified, experienced and supportive. They taught me to deal with the problem-solving techniques and to develop solutions.
Hostel
I had stayed at the on-campus housing facility of the university. It had cost me around $8000 including meal plans. The traveling had cost me around $2500. By staying on campus I had given more time to my studies.
