Close to home, cost. It was near my home and I was seventeen when I started university, and it was incredibly cheap. And our state schools are the best in the country. I also got into the honors program at this school.
Course Curriculum
The general education was shifting when I was there so it isn't the same now as when I went. I would like to have taken more classes as general education, and I think people get too many allowances to not take gen eds and so graduate without ever having taken anything above remedial English.
Fees
It was about 5 thousand a quarter but I got grants. Those grants didn't pay for textbooks until my senior year though they did cover my living expenses.
Scholarship
I received the Pell Grant and the Cal Grant. The CalGrant was a nightmare to try to get since our administration made us jump through so many hoops.
Examination Structure
We don't really do exams at CSUB. I took the GRE by myself and the GWAR through CSUB. The GWAR was administered via a class which was one of the best classes I've ever taken. Gave me foundational practice in my field.
Faculty
I miss my faculty more than I miss anything else. We have profs from Yale, Oxford, Cambridge, UW, and basically every other ivy league. They are kind, intelligent and invested in our education.
