I opted for SEMO because the cost was reasonable with also giving good extracurricular opportunities and it was a good distance from my home so I could visit or go home if I needed to. I do think you get what you pay for.
Course Curriculum
I think the course curriculum was good for this particular program. I believe it properly prepared me for nursing school. I think that they could maybe add biology to the curriculum since it is a section on the HESI.
Placement
I think the job placement is not bad, but it is probably not as good as it is in other places. This again is something that was not communicated to me so I can't say for sure. I ended up switching to another school for nursing and they have a much clearer idea of how to go about getting a job after the program.
Internship
I do not think they provide internship opportunities, but I am not completely sure. If they do, I was not informed on these opportunities as a student which I should have been. I do believe they offer student abroad programs but not sure about internships.
Events
Since I didn't actually make it to the nursing program, there were no achievements or events celebrated through the pre-nursing curriculum. But the college itself also doesn't have much self-pride or celebration for things like football or basketball games either.
Fees
The cost is what brought me to this school, and it was fairly reasonable. I did end up losing one of my scholarships due to my advisor not properly informing me that I had to sign up for a specific amount of classes each semester which was not ideal.
Scholarship
Yes, I received a small scholarship from the University and did not expect, or need, more than I was given. However, I did end up losing some of this due to miscommunication which is upsetting.
Examination Structure
I think the exams were pretty fair in every class. Anatomy was probably the most difficult class because our professor didn't prepare us at all and didn't teach very well but the supplementary student teaching helped me to at least pass the tests. I could have done better if the teacher herself would have helped.
Faculty
I did not like the faculty at this college once so ever. My anatomy and physiology professor, in particular, did not do a good job helping her students succeed. If it wasn't for the extra help given by the former student, I would not have passed the class. I also did not think any of my other professors showed interest in the success of these students.
Hostel
I lived on campus in geek housing and loved it. There were constantly people in there cleaning the house, however, there were still problems with mold and bugs. I think that could have been an issue getting the higher cleaning people involved which is not good.
