Purdue University - Northwest, Elementary Education: Special Needs Concentration
Reviewed on Mar 18, 2019

Purdue University Northwest is a college that offers a good education at an affordable price. I watched my brother complete his engineering education there and was inspired mostly by his example. This college was also close to home.

Course Curriculum

9

The course curriculum is much different from what I had experienced previously in high school. I felt a little overwhelmed at the very beginning of my freshman year but have come to enjoy the challenge that this different curriculum brings.

Fees

When I first applied to Purdue, there was an application fee of no more than $50 but because I applied physically at the university, the charge was waived. When I looked at my first payment for my first semester of college, I noticed that there were additional charges for the classes I was taking. There was a charge for the lab that I was registered for as well as an additional cost for my math class that I was registered for as well.

Examination Structure

The exam structure varies from class to class. In my Math class, all exams are completed in class on paper. My History and Philosophy class also holds this same structure. With the majority of my classes, exams are completed online. There are many pros and cons to both exam structures.

Faculty

10

The faculty at Purdue Northwest are encouraging and want to see students succeed. Coming into college, I fully expected to have harsh professors that did not care personally for their students but I have truly been blown away with the kindness and motivation that has been shown to me personally by the teachers and faculty of Purdue.
