Morgan Seger Review at Western Illinois University [WIU], Macomb | Collegedunia

WIU Rating

MS
7.2 /10

Money and scholarships given were quite a bit of help and also I went on a tour and everyone was so friendly and welcoming. It was a nice community and I liked the set up of the campus and the professors that I met.

Course Curriculum :

Very friendly professors and fairly easy course work. It's difficult enough to challenge but with the ability of the great professors to teach and help, it seems simple. There aren't many tests, mainly things like lesson plans.

Exams :

ACT, AP tests for multiple classes, will take the math certification exam and edTPA coming this summer and fall of 19.

Internship :

I believe my college provides internship however I am not sure considering I am not into a major that requires an internship. I am going into education so I will be student teaching. From my experience, internships are given out pretty regularly.

Fees :

Housing is fairly expensive, roughly 3 grand a semester. Tuition is the most, running about 600 dollars per credit hour. Which is a lot when you're taking 15-16 credit hours a semester. Luckily I get FAFSA and scholarships to cut down the cost to only about 2 grand a semester.

Examination Structure :

There aren't many exams in my courses, mainly just outside of the courses for my major. I will take the content area test for math and my edTPA coming up the summer and fall. What few exams we have in course, they are usually multiple choice and you get a while to take them.

Faculty :

I love the faculty. It is very sad that one of my favorite professors is getting let go in the budget cuts. I have had her for 2 semesters and she has been one of my favorites so far. The rest of the faculty is also pretty good with a few bad ones trown in.
