The B.S. degree in Agribusiness prepares students for careers in the nation’s growing agribusiness sector which provides products and services for the production, processing, and distribution of food and fiber. With the increased consumption of food away from home, the increased packaging and meals-ready-to-eat categories, and potential for expanded export opportunities, the need for graduates to fill agribusiness positions is increasing. The agribusiness program combines the Core Business Knowledge requirements of a degree in business with coursework emphasizing the understanding of the unique institutional and managerial challenges facing agribusiness firms. Students integrate business management principles with technical knowledge to develop practical decision-making skills. This breadth and depth of training allows graduates of the program to find employment in non-ag firms as well as with more traditional agribusiness companies.
