Within the Communication studies track students have the opportunity to explore communication theory and application from numerous perspectives including:?human communication, interracial/intercultural communication, interpersonal communication, persuasion and rhetoric. Courses include:?Public Speaking, Theories of Human Communication, Critical Race Theory in Communication, Persuasion and propaganda, Rhetorical Criticism and Foundations of Civic Engagement.

Graduates will be able to:

Develop and present high quality oral presentations.

Create and analyze effective arguments.

Apply communication theory to practice.

Understand issues of race, gender, socio-economic status, culture, and power as they affect and are created by communication

Demonstrate competence in additional areas of communication such as organizational/business, rhetorical theory/social change, environmental, gender, non-verbal, and critical cultural theory.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Requirements:

Applicants to the university must have completed 12 years of preparatory education
Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a high school diploma
Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
Official transcripts must have a course by course evaluation from a NACES accredited agency
Students with lower GPA need to meet the SAT (1450) and ACT (21) requirements
Submit English Language Proficiency test scores

English Language Requirements:

TOEFL: minimum 79 in iBT; 213 in CBT; 550 in PBT
IELTS: minimum 6.5
