Placement
There is nothing like Campus placements like the ones that happen in India where hundreds of companies come to the college/universities and screen candidates, conduct interviews and offer job placements. Career fairs(where companies come to the university and chat with students and collect resumes) happen every semester. But the number of students that get hired through this process is low and most people find jobs themselves(by applying on company portals and also on websites like LinkedIn, Glassdoor etc.) At the end of the day(end of your master's program) most if not everyone find good jobs.
Internship
Yes, I did an internship at Schlumberger. I submitted my resume in one of the career fair events that happen on-campus every semester. I was called for interview a few weeks later and had a couple of rounds of interviews in which they asked questions in Data Structures and Algorithms, Coding and Resume.
Placement
Lots of chances to get recruited by good companies. Research opportunities are also vast. Post-study career prospects are excellent.
Internship
I did not intern anywhere.
Placement
The research opportunities at USC are great. Students can also study at another university after attending USC as great recommendations and the reputation of the university acts as a bonus on their profile. The placements are among the best because of the name of the university, its competitive admission process, and also location. Being located in California, even startups find it easy to find students and give them offers.
Internship
I have not yet opted for an internship or co-op.
Placement
Still finding opportunities. The placement process is virtual. Referals were given, offers were made, but some reached out to me.
It has good courses of quantum computing where I further choose to do my PhD in. Great exposure of real time environment.
Placement
Both UC Berkeley and USC are world renowned research institutions who have premiere research opportunities in any field imaginable. With the current fast paced environment of the world and pop culture lifestyles, research field have expanded and areas of interest can be placed in nearly any line of passion. There is a standard of criteria that must be upheld due to the institution’s brand name the student will be publishing on behalf of. Depending on the research department and position, some are paid and some are for experience purposes only.
Undergraduate: University of California at Berkeley (CAL). Graduate School: University of Southern California at Los Angeles (USC). I chose these institutions as they are some of the top ranked universities in the world. These are globally elite names that rank in the top tier. These college names allow for recognition in the professional environment. Major companies know the rigor that is associated with graduating from universally prestigious academic institutions such as these and the level of respect is instantaneously increased. At USC, my program ranks number one in the world in its field.
Placement
The post-study placement is quite dependent on the major of your studies. VLSI has a lot of good opportunities in companies like Apple, Nvidia, Intel, Cisco, Qualcomm, etc which pay on average $1,00,000 a year for students.
Internship
Yes, I did a summer internship in ARM Inc and a final semester Co-op in AMD. Usually, for internships and co-op in my field, we need to give 2-3 phone/video interview rounds. We get calls based on our resume and profile.
