Besides developing a high level of proficiency in the spoken and written language, our French majors gain a critical understanding of French-speaking peoples, civilizations, and their global influence, both past and present.?The French major prepares students for careers and graduate-level study in a variety of fields and is an ideal complement to majors such as international studies, international business, political science, communication, and art history, while also equipping students for work in nonprofit organizations that serve francophone regions.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Requirements:
- Submit official transcripts of all previous education completed
- Official transcripts must contain course by course evaluation and should be evaluated by a NACES accredited agency
- Submitting SAT/ACT score is optional
- Submit one academic letter of recommendation from a teacher or counselor of core subject like math, science, english, history or foreign language
- Submit English Language Proficiency test scores
English Language Requirements:
- TOEFL: minimum 85 in ibt;
- IELTS: minimum 6.5
- Duolingo: minimum 120
- SAT: minimum 600 in evidence based reading and writing
- ACT: score of 24 in reading
