Vishwas Grover Review at Australian National University Test1 [ANU], Canberra | Collegedunia

ANU in my perspective

Australian National University (ANU) is ranked 1st in whole of Oceania and ranked 31th in QS world ranking, 2021. Apart from that, it has one of the best educational faculty having 8 Nobel prize winners including the present Vice Chancellor of ANU. It is the only university to be affiliated by the Australian parliament. I choose this particular program as it is the most flexible degree I can ever have. It has 3 majors and honours year for the 3 core subjects i.e. Finance, Statistics and Economics.

Course Curriculum :

The curriculum and academics is always fixed to the application based learning. It provides more holistic education and "applied knowledge" kind of aura. Unfortunately, I'm studying remotely and currently have access to only online resources available which is why I cannot provide any industrial or research. Due to covid-19 restrictions, even the on campus students have to attend online lectures and tutorials.

Exams :

The Australian universities generally rely on ATAR scores which are calculated by universities itself. ATAR often varies with respect to the programs/degree one has applied for. Apart from that, IELTS is a 'must give' exam if english is your second language. My scores: IELTS- 7/9; ATAR- 99.95(max) Class minimum score: IELTS- 6.5/7; ATAR- 95

Placement :

There are many online webinars where companies try to interact with students and faculty. There's a huge chance of getting employment in big ventures as an intern or a proper job, but only after a certain period. Graduates from ANU have been rated as Australia's most employable graduates and among the most sought after by employers worldwide. The latest Global Employability University Ranking, published by the Times Higher Education, rated ANU as Australia's top university for getting a job for the fourth year in a row.

Internship :

I've not yet applied, cause I'm a first year student.

Events :

Sorry, the pandemic is going on. I'm unable to answer the same as of now.

Fees :

$192,000 AUD/4 year (excluding rent and personal expenses)

Scholarship :

I got the Vice Chancellor International Scholarship worth $25,000(one-time). This scholarship is automatically provided to the deserving candidates from my university, based on many factors mainly your ATAR score. Other than that, there are many other types of scholarship which needs to be applied for.

Faculty :

The ratio is quite rigid and almost perfect. Considering the current situation of pandemic, the tutorials happen online with students and convenor, with allowing limited number of students to join as group for a time, to ensure impactful and qualitative teachings.

Hostel :

Accomodation rooms are provided based on the availability. One can put in application before the accommodation guarantee period ends, to any of the Unilodge and they'll surely get. The infrastructure, facilities and cost are fair enough. Cost per week can vary from $180-350 AUD.
