Really good business school, high grad job expectations. Seem to be more up and coming and innovative than the other NSW alternative USYD. It is a bit further away, however, the people that go there seem to be less snobby and entitled.
Course Curriculum
I believe there is a lot of work that needs to go into it. The group assignments are a joke. The tutorials need to focus more on the discussion. It seems that as I am progressing, I am now in my fourth year of university. The tutorials seem to be a lot better.
Exams
Higher School Certificate - this is the high school exam that gives you an ATAR at the end of the year which I got a 94.8/99.95
Placement
UNSW is a big name in Australia. They definitely provide a lot of seminars getting us job ready. These seminars are with recruiters the big names in finance and accounting, which is relevant to me. And career workshops where you learn to write your resume etc.
Internship
There are subjects within each faculty that students can opt to take. For example next semester I have opted to take Comm2222 for course credit. They have sourced a variety of internships and the bonus is on me to select and apply for one.
Fees
In Australia, it is pretty standardized. I have a commonwealth supported place so hence the government subsidizes about 3/4 of the fees.
Examination Structure
The exam structure is pretty standard, usually a midsemester and final. Sometimes little tests within the semester. I find this to be perfect, having a mid-semester definitely allows you to keep up with content so the final is a lot overwhelming.
Faculty
The faculty is pretty great, UNSW appears to employ a range of people including people that are practicing in the field and those that are published in top journals within there respective fields. In my younger years, some of the tutors I believe were majorly under qualified and hence these were a waste of time.
Hostel
Due to extremely high rent prices, I live at home with my parents, which is not uncommon for Aussie students. I do however wish there was a cheaper option closer or on campus and this would be very convenient.
