The University was close and convenient. The course was not offered at many sites, so given that this was the most local option, I decided to choose this course. Also my friends and family had gone to this Uni so I was well educated on their facilities.
Course Curriculum
It is extremely busy and I have no 'Uni life' I am either working or studying so this course is really draining, however, they offer a great placement program where you can actually experience what it is like in the industry instead of just learning from books.
Exams
VCE, no interview stage, however, a high star score was needed to differentiate yourselves from others because of the small cohort.
Placement
It is slowly diminishing because people who get hired stay in the business for a very long time so it may be difficult to find a job in the future especially since more universities are opening this course now.
Internship
Yes, however, OH&S criteria's are required. It is treated as a unit and you are to be assessed during the internship. It helps you apply for jobs JMSS the future especially if you've worked at one of their clusters before.
Events
There is a weekly Monash Social Assosicisgion that provide free food and drinks like BBQ & is a time for sub-societies to promote their club and try and get more students to be involved in the Uni life.
Fees
There is a government program where they allow you to postpone the payment until you are able to financially pay for the fees after study. That is, you don't need to worry until you find a job however once you make enough, you are entitled to pay back the fee otherwise an additional interest fee will apply.
Scholarship
No, however, you can apply for many different & various scholarships by a google form similar to this one
Examination Structure
There are mid-sem exams that are hurdles so you need to pass and end of semester exams that are also hurdles. There are assignments in between but as for the exams they have short answer, explanation and multiple choice questions that test you on the literature you've learned.
Hostel
I live at home, however, when on rural placement there would be affiliated sites where I can query upon, that is the uni is more than welcome to help us students find accommodations and provide bursaries to subsidize the cost.
