UTS has the best nursing program in Sydney and has for multiple years now. I have heard so many great reviews about the program from fellow students as well as hospital workers. It has an amazing reputation within the local health district and has an amazing facility with updates and changes happening all the time ensuring that the facility has all the latest technology. They also use the same equipment as the hospitals so students are fully equipped when entering the workforce.
Course Curriculum
So far it has been amazing. Covering everything I believe is necessary as well as expanding my knowledge and furthering my skills. The university provides lots of online resources, including recommended readings as well as additional readings. The online library is extensive and there's are endless videos available to aid our learning.
Exams
I left school early (after year 11) and completed a tertiary education pathway through TAFE NSW which guaranteed me entry into university (straight into my second year).
Placement
The placements are amazing. They place you as close to home as they can so you don't have to travel too far but they also place you in a variety of wards so you're able to experience different types and levels of nursing. I haven't experienced what the job opportunities are like yet.
Internship
Yes, they do but I do not have any information about it. There is lots of information online about the internships, including the prerequisites and what the internship involves. They seem like amazing programs from what I've seen.
Fees
I elected for a government-supported loan, HECS to be exact. The uni made this very easy to apply for, you all made it extremely accessible for me view and/or change at any time and automatically transfers my fees to the HECS unless I elect another payment method before the census date.
Examination Structure
The exam structure seems very good. We find out our exam time table with plenty of time to work around it as well as not over cramming it. The assessments are spread out very evenly, ensuring there aren't any students that become overworked and overstressed.
Faculty
The health faculty at UTS has been nothing but amazing so far. So many lovely and extremely helpful people are involved. They are extremely patient and provide amazing information.
