The Doctor of Philosophy (Integrated) is a four-year research degree which incorporates a traditional three-year PhD thesis with one year of coursework subjects, combining generic research training and discipline-specific content into a single degree.
One of the oldest engineering disciplines, civil engineering is the applied science of physics and mathematics to address the infrastructural needs of human civilization. This includes construction engineering, bridge engineering, highway engineering, and the basic maintenance of roads, canals, dams, and buildings.
Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Following are the requirements of the program:
- Students must hold bachelor honours degree with 2nd class division or higher from a recognized university.
- Students have research Masters degree with at least ? of the degree comprising a thesis from a recognized university.
- A minimum GPA of 3.2 out of 4 is required.
- Other forms of research experience will also be considered.
- Students must be qualified in IELTS, TOEFL, or PTE to get admission to this program.

Special Admission Requirements
All applicants for research degrees must submit a written (preferably typed) proposal as part of their application. This proposal should:
- commence with a statement detailing any previous research or project experience you have undertaken, including if possible a copy of the abstract of such work;
- contain, in no more than one additional page, a clearly focussed research proposal for the study you would wish to undertake throughout your registration in the course; and
- conclude with a statement of your motivation for wanting to undertake the research course.
