The tuition fee of the university is variable based on the individual programs. The average cost of living per week for a student ranges from 199 AUD (non-catered) to 470 AUD (catered). What’s New?

University of Newcastle’s Q Building was awarded a world-leading 6 Star rating. The University of Newcastle’s Q Building has become the first building in regional NSW to achieve a 6 Star Green Star ‘Design and As Built’ certified rating.

A world-leading status, this is the highest rating awarded by Green Star, which is “an internationally recognised rating system setting the standard for healthy, resilient, positive buildings and places”, founded by the Green Building Council of Australia (GBCA) in 2003.

The certification confirms that the $25 million building, which opened in June as the first stage of the University’s new Honeysuckle City Campus, is more than just a creative and entrepreneurial hub in the city – the School of Humanities, Creative Industries and Social Sciences (HCISS) and Integrated Innovation Network (I2N) call it home – it’s a signpost and an aspiration for the University, the city and the region’s sustainable future.

Overview

I opted for this college as it has a smaller cohort than other universities in NSW. There is less competition to gain entry with a lower ATAR required. Located up the coast, it has more opportunities to partner with professional sport clubs whereas Sydney universities are competing with others to participate in placement and sporting opportunities.

Fees

The fee structure has a standard university fee schedule. Payment is required before commencement if not an Australian citizen. Scholarships can be applied through the university. The scholarships can be applied pre-start or after starting a course at the university. The university payment can be paid under a HECS loan.

Overview

Every since my high school, I had the aspirations to pursue my graduation in a reputed foreign university. I choose University of Newcastle because of its ideal location, which is perfect for work life balance. Due to Newcastle being near Sydney, that allows me to be close knit to my extended family living in Sydney and catch up on weekends. carried a strong passion towards accounting & finance, and I can clearly comprehend the importance of my field of study for some global player to tap the global market or economy.

Fees

The fee have to be paid before the census date for each semester for the course and the fee structure for each program changes every year. There are few scholarships for international students at University of Newcastle, but there is some scholars for academic excellence, to keep up the Distinction grade.

Overview

Good program, relatively close to home. I only got into two options for medicine, one of which was Adelaide which is a plane trip away for me. Newcastle (while it is 5 hours away) was closer and provided a city close to that of my hometown (Canberra). The program is also highly regarded, I think it's the 3rd best program in Australia and I like the learning structure.

Fees

I think it's $5,500 per semester which can be put on hex/help if you're a domestic student. There are also many scholarship opportunities for financially disadvantaged students or rural students who need to be relocated. Most people opt for hex as there aren't too many international students but I am not aware of the increased fees for those people.

Overview

Location- close to home and I can't afford to live out of home, the quality of education is high, and most courses have high employment rates after graduation. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the facilities are of high quality.

Fees

Other than course fees, we are charged $150 a semester for amenities and other facility charges. Other than those, each course has a designated price that stacks up and is added to our HECS debt. We then can pay the tuition fees off once we have a stable job and are earning a particular amount of money.

Overview

It was the local/nearby campus which allowed me to live at home (with parents) whilst studying to save money as accommodation options were very expensive. It also offered the course I was interested in completing and my year advisor at school recommended the local university to all students.

Fees

The HELP Debt is the main part of fees - that pays for classes, teachers, classrooms, etc. The government can loan you the HELP Debt which means you don\ t pay any of this until you start making enough money. Student Services Fees each semester - I think they're around $100 a semester - cover things like microwaves, water, paths, outdoor seating Resources - each semester the teachers set required resources such as textbooks which you need to purchase for the course. Textbooks can cost a couple of hundred dollars. Depending on the course and subject will have different requirements. Some resources can be bought second hand. Graduation fee - $200ish - covers your ticket + 3 guests + hire of graduation outfit.
