Diploma in Early Childhood Education degree at the Cambrian College is offered a 2-year (4 semesters) program.
This program is offered on a full-time basis.
In this course, students will have the opportunity to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for the field of early learning and child care.
Through interactive classroom experiences, students will design, plan, implement, and evaluate play-based learning for young children from birth to twelve years of age.
This program will prepare students to work with and support the diverse needs of the children and families will encounter in their future work.
Students will build a foundation of understanding that children learn through play.
This learning approach combined with a culturally-relevant environment will reflect that children are curious, capable, competent, and rich in potential.
There are some highlights of this program are:
- Placement in each semester
- Opportunities for international placements in China
- Community guest speakers and field trips to local agencies
- Practical learning in the mock child care classroom on campus
- Grads are eligible to apply to become Registered Early Childhood Educators
Each year, Cambrian College offers a variety of opportunities for students to work across disciplines in exciting community and College endeavors.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

Students who want to get admission in this college must be 75% or above in the academic average.
Students must qualify to obtain their OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma).
Ontario High School applicants require the following Grade 30 credits (overall average of 70% is required):
- Any grade 12 English (C) or (U)
- Any grade 11 or 12 family studies (C), (U), or (M)
- Computer competency in relevant software

Indian Student Eligibility:

The students must have completed 10^th and intermediate i.e 12^th grade which has the minimum with 70% marks.
The minimum qualification required to attend this program is a higher secondary school certificate.

Academic Eligibility:

Applicants must be graduates of a diploma, advanced diploma, or degree from an Ontario College or equivalent.
A minimum of 60% is required in each prerequisite course.
Applicants working in related industries without a diploma or degree may be considered on an individual basis.

Indian Student Eligibility:

The students must have completed 10^th and intermediate i.e 12^th grade which has the minimum with 70% marks.
Applicants must be graduates of a diploma, advanced diploma, or degree in an equivalent field.

Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
