I chose UVIC for its sociology program. I want to continue on to study healthcare management and I found this program to combine statistical and management based studies within its sociology degree.
Course Curriculum :
The course curriculum is classical and contemporary; I feel confident in each sociological paradigm and how to apply this understanding to current social issues. I would recommend the university produce more courses on management.
Fees :
The fee structure is average university price; additional charges support clubs and campus movements, and the brand new gym costs less than a regular gym, at $106 for 4 months.
Examination Structure :
The exam structure is very well dispersed, I have never had overlapping exams that require me to go out of my way to meditate, no matter whatever faculties I am taking electives in. There is a mixture of essays and written exams, and I have performed very well with the mix.
Faculty :
The faculty could definitely use some new faces to instruct contemporary courses, as the majority of the staff is older and teaching classical courses. I think that each prof is extremely good at what they do, and have zero complaints about 95% of the staff.
