I choose this institution because of its proximity to home, and because this institution offers undergraduate nursing students clinical placement in their first year - which I felt was a valuable learning opportunity that I wanted to have in my education.
Course Curriculum
I really like the course curriculum. I like that we are able to go into the clinical setting in the first year something unique to this institution. I also like that students have a weekly clinical lab which allows them to practice clinical skills hands on.
Placement
They're okay. I wish we had more variety and I wish we had the opportunity to choose our clinical placement location (ie. nursing unit). I think that providing students with more placement varieties would be beneficial to their education.
Fees
Fees for this program include tuition fees, school/student association fees, residence fees, textbook expenses, fees for placement uniform and badges as well as transportation expenses (ie to and from placement).
Examination Structure
The exam structure for my program is all multiple choice with occasional fill in the blank questions. They're also a lot of questions where you have to choose the most correct answer or the answer that you would do first.
Faculty
Good - however I think they could be more supportive with regards to students mental health. I think also that they shouldn't be as intimidating to incoming students as sometimes they can scare students into fear of failure.
