Ayushi Singla Review at University Of The Fraser Valley [UFV], Abbotsford | Collegedunia

The overall experience is good but could have been better in Co-op opportunity.

I chose UFV because of the concept that we can study in India for a minimum of one year and then can transfer to Canada. So we can make new friends here in India, and then those friends would be there with you in Canada when you don't have anyone else. Also, we will get to know about the Canadian style of learning and teaching while in India.

Course Curriculum :

The academics are good, but the Indian campus should inculcate the option of choosing the majors. As I spent 3 years in India, I didn't get a chance to study for the Finance courses in India.

Exams :

The program in which I got enrolled didn't have any specific requirements. Nothing like that. I had good scores in English and Maths so didn't face any difficulty in getting admission.

Placement :

I thought that Majors in Finance will help me in landing a good job. But as the culture over here is that students start working early, the employers don't go by your studies, but by your work experience instead.

Events :

The campus could be better by adding some more food options.

Fees :

With spending three years in India, it was almost 60,000 CAD.

Scholarship :

N/A

Faculty :

The faculty to student ratio is apt over here. Though for some of the courses, students don't have a choice to choose the professor.

Hostel :

I got a basement with my friends off-campus. The accommodation was almost 20-25 minutes away by car. The public transport is not good at Abbotsford however.
