Archaeology is the study of human life and activities in past cultures through examination of material remains. These remains, including objects and structures, are excavated from sites where people lived and worked in the past. Archaeology seeks to reconstruct events of the past, processes leading to their development, their meaning for individual cultures and general human development, and the consequences of those events on human culture. The Co-operative Education Program in Archaeology was developed to give students workplace experiential learning as a component of their University training in Archaeology.
