- MA in Community Development at the University of Victoria is offered as a 2-years program by the School of Public Administration.

- The Master of Arts in Community Development will build and develop students’ capacity to become successful leaders in the civil society and social economy, whether they work or volunteer in the non-profit sector either locally or internationally.
- Throughout the program, students will apply new skills and knowledge to an ongoing research project for a client in the field of community development.
- The program's unique focus on the application of learning outcomes means that students will graduate with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of the historical and political underpinnings, key concepts, and spheres of practice embedded in the social economy and civil society.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement
Academic Eligibility:
- Students must have an undergraduate degree in Community Development or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- A grade point average of 5.0/9.0 (B or equivalent) in the work of the last two years (30 units) leading to the bachelor’s degree.

A minimum of four years of professional experience, paid or volunteer, in one of the four streams of the broader community development sector (community economic development, cooperative, non-profit, and international )
Indian Student Eligibility:
- Students must complete a Bachelor’s (4 years) degree in Community Development or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Or, students completed a master's degree with first-class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
- The minimum grade score for a degree should be 7/10 (60%), first class.
Along with the minimum eligibility requirements, international students hailing from non-English speaking countries need to prove English proficiency through IELTS/TOEFL/any equivalent test.
