  • The Diploma in Civil Engineering Technologies at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is offered as 27 months program.
  • It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.

  • The program offers two options; Construction and Water Resources.
  • The first two semesters are common to both disciplines. Students will build skills in:
    • Surveying
    • Computer applications and modeling
    • Communications
    • Materials analysis and testing procedures and protocols
    • Hydraulics
    • Project Management
    • Municipal infrastructure
  • Students select their options after completing the second semester.
  • In this program, 36 students will be accepted into the Construction option and 20 students will be accepted into the Water Resources option.
  • If the number of students desiring either option is more than the available seats, a competitive entry process will be utilized based on student performance in the first two semesters.
  • In semesters three, four, and five, students will focus on their chosen option. In Construction, they will develop well-rounded knowledge and skills in Geotechnical Engineering and Pavement Design.
  • In Water Resources, student’s studies will focus on:
    • Meteorological and hydrometric data collection and analysis
    • Water chemistry and Hydrology
    • River engineering
    • Watershed Management
    • Water quality management
    • Structures (steel, timber, reinforced concrete)
    • Transportation
  • Technology Accreditation Canada (TAC) accredits the program at the Technologist level.
  • The average salary of the program goes up to 34,000 USD.

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students must complete Grade 12 with Pre-Calculus 30 from a recognized college or institution.
  • Students must have a GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
  • Students also required to complete Grade 12 with Math A30, B30, and C30.

Language Requirments:

  • Students must be able to understand and fluently speak the language of instruction (English) in the program. Proof of linguistic proficiency may be required.
  • Students whose official language is not English are required to submit IELTS or TOEFL Scores.
