- The Diploma in Electrical Engineering Technology at Saskatchewan Polytechnic is offered as 3 years program.
- It is an on-campus program offered on a full-time basis.
- The program consists of 5 academic semesters and 3 co-operative education work terms.
- Students will study topics similar to Electronic Systems Engineering Technology students, including computer-aided drafting, computer applications and programming, basic electricity, semi-conductor electronics, and AC circuits.
- University accepts 40 students each year in this program.
- Class hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm daily. On average students are expected to complete 20 hours of homework each week outside class time.
- Student's knowledge and skills will become more focused as they advance. Students will study:
- electrical system design
- lighting design
- electrical power generation
- relaying and protection
- electrical systems and transmission design
- electrical machines
- industrial control systems
- Lab work and projects provide a hands-on focus on learning.
- Students will develop a technical proposal, apply research skills to a technical problem, design and build electrical systems, and more.

- Saskatchewan Polytechnic arranges student interviews. It also gives a chance to develop important “soft skills” in job interviewing, professional attitude, interpersonal communication, and more.
- The co-op employers require both a valid Saskatchewan Driver's Licence and a clean Driver's Abstract.

Academic Eligibility:
- Students must complete Grade 12 with a minimum of 60% in Pre-Calculus 30 from a recognized college or institution.
- Minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
