This is the only university that offers a Master of applied science in Safety and Risk Engineering. Taking about the curriculum, it's given a very practical approach. To elaborate, each chapter or subject directly connects to the industrial sector.

I believe the course curriculum to be fair. There is room for a lot of electives which was nice. The only thing I really dislike is how many courses require a pre-requisite to get into- which really has dragged my degree from being completed as I can only do 1-2 courses a semester.

Fees

Each course at Memorial is approximately $300-400, depending on whether or not it is an online course. There is about a $100 extra free for completing a course online. I did not receive any scholarships for my program and everything was paid through government loan. I would get approximately 10,000 per year to cover all costs- tuition, transportation, rent, groceries, etc. This ended up being more than enough for me to cover costs each semester.

Our faculty is quite well staffed. We always had classes without any problem. There wasn't any kind of change in schedule due to the absence of teacher as they are always someone to replace.

Fees

My course requires around 11500$ only for the course fee. Addition to that there is much more miscellaneous fees. I got an entrance scholarship of 6000$. I know this is the maximum they provide for International students. However, beyond the first year there are no scholarship opportunities for international students.

The course curriculum is systematic. It is designed in such a way so that you have to make sure that you study regularly not to fall behind. I appreciate the way it is designed as it pushes students to study regularly.

Fees

The fee structure includes everything including tuition, insurance, mun student's union fee and other things that students need to complete education.

I think that some of the courses I have taken at Mun have been pointless. People just copying each other and going to tutorials to get an A. I know most people who have taken these courses have agreed with me that they have not taken much away from them and have not used the information.

Fees

There have been recent increase by double if work term fees for students on a work term, which doesn't seem fair as we are not on campus or using the facilities or resources there, therefore we should not be expected to pay fees for this, especially so much.

It covers what we need to know but in some ways needs improvement. There are numerous exciting electives, but some courses lack the required focus. Overall the course curriculum tends to be laid out for students to easily understand.

Fees

Per course $255 (NL students), $335 for Canadian students, $1100 for international students. Other fees for health and dental, student union, campus renewal, full-time student and some others. For an NL student for a semester its approx $1800 before a residence or other living arrangements.
