The master's degree in law, option in information technology law comprises 45 credits. It is offered in 3 concentrations:

  • General (segment 70),
  • Information and communication law (segment 71),
  •  Electronic commerce (segment 72).

The choice, of course, is based on the option chosen and must be approved by the Dean.

The student whose legal training was entirely followed abroad must take one of the following three courses according to the field of the objective of his research project in addition to the regular education:

Eligibility & Entry Requirement

Academic Eligibility:

  • Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree in law from the University of Montreal or a diploma deemed equivalent
  • They should have obtained, in the 1st cycle, in the microprogram or in the DESS, an average of at least 3.0 out of 4.3 or the equivalent.
  • They should demonstrate a good knowledge of French and English.

Required Documents are as follows:

  • A complete curriculum vitae
  • A letter of recommendation from a person (preferably a university professor) who knows the candidate personally and can concretely assess his research skills by referring, ideally, to specific work carried out by the candidate and that the respondent has been able to formally or informally assess
  • A presentation of a maximum of three pages indicating the training and professional objectives targeted by the candidate when applying for admission to the master's program with thesis, briefly describing his research project (even in an embryonic state) and explaining all circumstances that may have affected their academic performance in the past.
