    • Course based: The requirement is successful completion of an approved 30 credit-hour program. A minimum of 15 credit hours of coursework must be taken from the ChE graduate-level course list.
    • Project-based: The requirements is successful completion of 24 credit hours of which a minimum of 15 credit hours must be taken from the ChE graduate-level course list and, completion of an industrial project, written report, and oral presentation.
  • The project must be supervised by a UNB faculty member and is generally completed over the summer period in collaboration with the local industry and possibly on a co-operative work-study basis.
  • UNB's faculty of engineering's chemical engineering department offers students the opportunity to work with innovative faculty members who have diverse expertise and research interests. 
  • The students have access to labs and research centers within the Chemical Engineering department for example Materials Surface Characterization Laboratory, Limerick Pulp and  Paper, Nanotechnology, UNB Hydroprocessing Laboratory, Oil Recovery Laboratory, Polymer Laboratory.
  • Students who successfully complete the MEng are eligible for admission to the PhD program, on a competitive basis.

    • Pulp and paper

Academic Eligibility:

  • Students from Canada or the United States should hold an undergraduate degree from a recognized university.
  • Students have a minimum GPA of 3.0 (B or 70%).
  • International students must have a GPA of a Canadian equivalent to 90% or higher.  
  • Submission of GRE Score is required.

  • Completed a 4-year UG degree with first class in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
  • Or, completed a master's degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
