Dream Institute of Technology was established in 2006 and is one of the best private engineering colleges in South Kolkata. The institute offers UG and PG courses across Science, Engineering, Humanities, and Management streams. It offers B.Tech, BBA, BHM, BCA, and B. Sc. at UG level and M.Tech at the PG level. The admissions at the Dream Institute of Technology is a simple process yet based on 2 criteria; first is the entrance exam and the second is the merit obtained by the students in previous academic levels. The admission process is entirely online and is conducted as per the guidelines of MAKAUT which was previously known as West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT).

- Fill the online application with the required personal and academic details.
- Upload the required documents in the given size and format.
- Pay the fee as asked by the authority.
- Register your candidature.
- Once the application registration is done, the students have to appear for these exams and the results for the same are announced later on the respective websites.
- Depending on the exam results, the university conducts counseling rounds to proceed with the admission.

With a lush green campus of 11 acres in an urban setting, the college provides the following facilities inside the college campus.
- Library: The institute has a central library which has the integrated Library automation software that provides access over 30,375 books along with National Journals, International Journals, and E-Journals.
