VSB Engineering College, Karur has 10 different teaching departments that conducts various UG and PG level academic programs.
Under UG domain, the college provides 6 specializations in B.E course and 3 streams under B.Tech courses. There is provision for lateral entry admissions to these UG courses as well. Under the PG domain, VSB offers M.E program in 3 specializations.

Similar to every other Engineering college, VSB conducts its admission process by means of proper counselling process for respective programs.
- For B.E/B.Tech courses, a candidate must appear for any National level Entrance exam like JEE Mains and participate in TNEA counselling process for the respective academic year
- For M.E courses, eligible candidates must produce a scorecard of entrance level exam like GATE or TANCET and appear for TNEA counselling
- Admissions to 65% seats are filled via single window counselling process and rest 35% are filled through Consortium of Self-Financing Professional Colleges of Tamil Nadu as per the regulations of state Govt.
VSB Engineering College, Karur came under the regulations of VSB Educational Trust in the year 2002 at Karur, Tamil Nadu. VSB Engineering College Technical Campus at Coimbatore was set up in 2012.
In the academic year, almost 460 students were recruited by top firms with a total number of 1206 offers made by the participating companies. Almost 326 students were placed with salary more than 3 lakhs. Top recruiting firms include Cognizant, TCS, Capgemini, Wipro and HCL among others.
Apart from conducting recruitment drives, the placement cell at VSB Engineering College conducts intensive training sessions as well as regular interaction with students to enhance their confidence level.

- Must have passed HSC /CBSE/Pre-degree/Plus 2 or equivalent with minimum eligibility in Maths, Physics, Chemistry
- Must have passed HSC (vocational stream) with Engineering / Technology as vocational subjects and either Maths, Physics, or Chemistry as optional subjects
- Must have passed any equivalent qualification approved and recognized by the State Board of Technical Education and Training / Higher Secondary Board of Tamil Nadu and Universities in Tamil Nadu
